Christmas Party 2017 | Flourish Education | Teacher Supply Agency
The annual Christmas party
This is a great time to take stock of accomplishments, reflect on the hard work put in by the Flourish Education team over the year and have a bit of fun at the same time. It's a tradition looked forward to by many.
Office Christmas Party Ideas
There’s a wide selection nowadays when it comes to the type of Christmas party that you can attend. Some are small and private whilst others are big, vibrant and public.
Festive work celebrations can be traditional or have more of a quirky influence. You can choose the traditional turkey, Christmas hats and ‘jingle bells’ or opt for something different like a musical murder mystery night or Christmas Masquerade Ball. Whatever the venue, location or theme is, you'll want the event to be enjoyable, pleasant and memorable for all the right reasons.
THE ULTIMATE CHRISTMAS PARTY AT THE NEC
We chose to celebrate in style this year and attend a shared party night with a variety of other companies at the NEC, Birmingham. The party theme this year at the NEC was 'MANHATTAN' the whole place was decorated and furnished to resemble the bright lights of NEW YORK, NEW YORK.
The team finished work early on the Friday due to the snowy and icy conditions that have swept the West Midlands this year - everyone made it safely over to Resorts World. We decided to stay overnight at the Genting Hotel, check-in was swift and efficient. The hotel reception, bars and dining rooms were excellent, the Christmas decorations superb and the staff were polite & friendly.
Dinner and drinks in the NEC
Everyone enjoyed a chilled glass of something at one of the New York themed cocktail bars before sitting down and tucking into a festive three course set menu. Food is of course a key part of any Christmas party and whilst turkey wasn't on the menu, the most popular choice for our group was chicken with vegetables for the main course but some great vegetarian options were on offer too.
Vibrant stages came to life whilst we were tucking into our meals and we were treated to an evening of entertainment! World-class aerial entertainers performed the impossible and professional dance troops and high pole balancing acts filled the floor. The round table arrangements made it easy for everyone to swap seats with colleagues, so everyone had the opportunity to talk and catch-up with one another.
Dancing and gambling the night away
Having a jig at the Christmas party is usually normal after everyone has been fed. It’s the perfect occasion for everyone to really let their hair down. Most of the Flourish Education team dusted off our dancing shoes and then burnt off some calories whilst others cashed in their fairground tokens and visited the casino tables, fairground stalls and dodgems into the wee small hours.
As midnight approached tasty breakfast rolls were served - just the job for staff who were still peckish. After some more dancing, whirling around on the dodgems and gambling 'just for fun' at the charity casino, it was time to call it a night. The NEC is a massive venue and Resorts World is a big place to get around after leaving the NEC. With tired eyes and aching feet, it could have been easy to get lost when trying to navigate back to get a good night’s sleep in one of the Genting Hotel rooms. Fortunately everyone made it safely back to the hotel for some much needed R & R.
A hearty breakfast at the Genting Hotel restaurant
The morning after was a merry atmosphere with everyone commenting on what a fun time was had by all. The self-service breakfast offered a wide range of hot and cold favourites. Orange Juice, a cup or two of coffee and a full English breakfast went down a treat.
Flourish Education Christmas party success
The Christmas party was a fantastic opportunity for everyone at Flourish Education to get to know each other. A time to relax, socialise with different people, and better understand their areas of work. The service, food and atmosphere at Genting Hotel and NEC was fantastic. We recommend it as a Christmas party venue and hope to visit once again in the future.
