Search jobsFlourish Education are working alongside a popular primary school in West Bromwich who are looking to appoint a teaching assistant to work 1:1 with a child with SEND in key stage one. This is a full time, long term position, covering maternity leave and is due to last until at least Christmas 2018.
The school is larger than the average primary school, and has a large proportion of SEN and pupil premium eligible students. The children come from a range of ethnic minority backgrounds, although proportion of children who have EAL is in line with the national average.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be working 1:1 with a child with SEND on a full time basis. The child is in KS1 so knowledge of the KS1 curriculum would be an advantage, as would phonics experience.
You must be able to build a strong relationship with this child and manage behaviour effectively, as well as adopt a nurturing approach.
