Flourish Education are working with a mainstream School in Smethwick, to recruit exclusively for a Learning Support Assistant/Teaching Assistant with SEN experience.

This Teaching Assistant role is to work both with a child with Autism and supporting the class Teacher within a Reception class. The child will excel with someone experienced in working with children with additional needs, and who has a calm and patient nature.

This Learning Support Assistant/Teaching Assistant role is required to start as soon as possible for the right candidate and has the potential to follow the child through their school life.

To apply to this SEN Teaching Assistant role you will need the following

• Relevant Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or above
• At least 1 year of experience as a Teaching Assistant/Learning Support Assistant within a Primary/Nursery Setting
• Extensive experience of working with children with Special Needs
• Experience of working on a 1:1 basis
• A good reference from your most recent school
• Good behaviour management

Responsibilities

• To work on a 1:1 basis with a child with Special Education Needs
• Support the class Teacher within Reception Class
• To effectively manage the behaviour and routines of the child(ren)
• Encourage child’s development and improve their access to the curriculum
