View similarFlourish Education are currently working with a First School in the Bromsgrove area who are currently looking to recruit a teaching assistant to join the school on a full-time, long-term basis in Reception class as 1:1 support. This role may become permanent for the right candidate.
The school has a good reputation in the local community and is currently over-subscribed.
The role in question is to work with a child that has joined the school in Reception class who is currently going through assessments for an EHCP. This is a 1:1 role. This teaching assistant role is supporting a child with suspected autism on a full-time basis. The child requires someone with a nurturing and patient approach to learning, and someone who can commit to building a long-term working relationship with him.
The school are looking for someone with previous autism knowledge and experience to support the child 1:1 in order to encourage the child into more class participation.
This is due to start after Christmas on a full-time basis and continue until the end of the academic year. This teaching assistant role could become permanent for the right candidate.
To apply to this 1:1 teaching assistant role you will need the following;
· Experience working with school or nursery settings
· Experience of working with children with Autism
· Have supported pupils in small groups or one to one
· Be enthusiastic about working with children
· Good behaviour management skills.
· Patient and nurturing approach
Responsibilities
· Work closely with the class teacher to support a child’s learning
· One to one support for a child with suspected autism in a reception class
· Encourage the child’s participation in lessons.
· Aid communication between the class teacher, the child, and other children in the class
