Are you a passionate Art and Design teacher looking to make a change? Flourish Education are recruiting a secondary Teacher to teach Art and Design across various secondary schools across Birmingham on a day-to-day supply basis.

Working as a Supply Teacher for Flourish Education allows you to work where and when you want - giving you a great work-life balance! What's more, day-to-day supply teaching requires no planning or meetings, which takes away all additional pressures of teaching and allows you to do what you love - TEACH!

The secondary schools are looking for an Art and Design Teacher to join their creative department for their Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS3 and KS4) students to deliver one (or more) of the following subjects:

  • Art
  • Design and Technology
  • Photography (a subject in high demand!)

As this is a day-to-day supply role, you will not be expected to plan or mark. However, you will be excepted to:

  • Deliver Art and Design lessons to KS3 and KS4 classes
  • Deliver lessons and work set out by the regular teacher.
  • Creating an engaging and motivating learning environment.
  • To manage classroom behaviour in line with the school behaviour policy.
  • When required, mark student’s work in line with the school’s marking policy at the end of every day.

Required skills and experience for the Art and Design Teaching role:

  • Experience in teaching art and design in Secondary schools.
  • Must have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Early Career Teachers (ECT’s) are encouraged to apply.
  • Ability to manage a classroom with excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisation skills.
  • Contact references from all employment in the last 24 months.
  • Previous UK school experience.

  • Competitive salary- Day rate of £130 to £220.00 which equates to £25,350 to £42,900 per annum based on working 5 days a week for a full school year.
