Job Description

We are recruiting for a Computer Science Teacher to join a vibrant, faith-led secondary school with a strong sense of community and a deep-rooted ethos centred on care, compassion, and personal growth. This role is due to start in September for the whole of the academic year, you will be teaching both KS3 and KS4, with planning and marking involved.

JOB ROLE:

  • Deliver engaging Computer Science lessons to KS3 and KS4 students in line with the National Curriculum
  • Full class responsibilities including planning, preparation, delivery, and marking
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback
  • Work closely with the Secondary School’s leadership and IT departments
  • Maintain excellent classroom behaviour management in line with school policies
  • Inspire students through innovative teaching strategies and excellent subject knowledge

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Early Career Teacher (ECT)
  • Proven experience as a Secondary Teacher or Secondary School Subject Lead
  • Excellent subject knowledge of Computer Science and strong understanding of the National Curriculum
  • Ability to deliver lessons to Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4)
  • Exceptional behaviour management and classroom presence
  • Passionate about delivering high-quality education and supporting pupil development

This Computer Science Teacher position is based in Birmingham, easily commutable from Northfield, Selly Oak, Harborne, Kings Norton, Edgbaston and Stirchley. The Secondary School has excellent public transport links and free on-site parking for staff.
