Job Description

We are recruiting for a Cover Supervisor to work in Secondary Schools across Birmingham, to teach whole classes during short-term absences of teachers, small group support and the supervision of breaks.

The Secondary schools are looking for a Cover Supervisor on a day-to-day basis to work with students of mixed ability. We are looking for someone to make a significant difference in their education and provide them with the tools they need to succeed.

As this is a day-to-day Cover Supervisor role you will be expected to:

  • Deliver lessons and work set out by the regular Teacher.
  • Create a motivating learning environment within the classroom.
  • To manage behaviour in the classroom as per the school behaviour policy.
  • Mark students’ work in line with the school’s marking policy at the end of every day, when required.

To apply for this Cover Supervisor role, you will need:

  • A Degree or a Level 3 Qualification.
  • Experienced working with Children/Students in an education setting.
  • Knowledge of Secondary Curriculum is desirable.
  • Excellent behaviour and classroom management skills
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people and follow school and Trust policies including the staff code of conduct.
  • Contract references from all employment in the last 24 months
