Ready to inspire creativity and practical skills in the classroom? Exciting Design & Technology / Food Technology Teacher opportunities are now available! Flourish Education is recruiting a flexible Design & Technology / Food Technology Teacher to work as a Supply Teacher on either a long-term or day-to-day basis across well-regarded Secondary School settings in Dudley and the surrounding area.

This role gives you complete freedom to choose when and where you work while teaching in an OFSTED-rated GOOD school. Whether you want full-time, part-time or occasional days, we work around you to support an excellent work-life balance.

Job Role

  • Deliver engaging Design & Technology and Food Technology lessons across Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4)
  • Teach a range of practical and theoretical content, including materials, resistant materials, textiles, food preparation and nutrition
  • Follow the National Curriculum and adapt lessons to meet different learning needs
  • Maintain excellent behaviour management within workshop and classroom environments
  • Assess and monitor pupil progress, providing constructive feedback
  • Build strong relationships with pupils and staff within the Secondary School
  • Work confidently as a Supply Teacher across a variety of DT and Food classes
Required Skills and Experience
  • Design & Technology Teacher, Food Technology Teacher, DT Teacher, Food Tech Teacher, Secondary Teacher, DT ECT, Food ECT, Supply Teacher
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Early Career Teacher (ECT)
  • Excellent subject knowledge across DT disciplines and Food Technology
  • Strong understanding of the National Curriculum for KS3 and KS4
  • Skilled in maintaining safe working environments, particularly in practical lessons
  • Strong behaviour management skills
  • Passion for delivering hands-on, high-quality lessons that motivate and challenge pupils

Location
This Design & Technology / Food Technology Teacher position is based in Dudley, easily commutable from Kingswinford, Stourbridge, Brierley Hill, Halesowen, Wolverhampton, Tipton and surrounding areas. The Secondary School benefits from excellent transport links across the Black Country and wider West Midlands.
