Flourish Education is seeking a Drama Teacher to work at a secondary school in Coventry, starting in September 2026 and continuing until the summer holidays 2027. This part-time opportunity is suited to a teacher who can deliver engaging Drama lessons and help students develop their practical, creative and communication skills.
The successful candidate will teach students across KS3 and KS4, planning lessons that combine practical performance with theoretical learning. You will assess student progress, manage classroom behaviour and encourage pupils to develop their confidence and understanding of Drama.
The role would be suitable for an experienced Drama Teacher or an ECT with a relevant qualification and subject background.
Job Role:
- Deliver Drama lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
- Plan and prepare practical and theory-based lessons
- Help students develop performance and communication skills
- Monitor and assess student progress
- Provide clear and constructive feedback
- Encourage students to participate in practical Drama activities
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour
- Adapt lessons to meet different abilities and learning needs
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Performing Arts department
- Contribute to school performances and wider activities where required
Required Skills and Experience:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or ECT
- Previous experience teaching Drama or Performing Arts in a secondary school
- Strong knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 curriculum
- Good subject knowledge in Drama
- Experience planning and delivering lessons independently
- Effective classroom and behaviour management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students
- Professional and adaptable approach to teaching
