This role is due to start in September 2026.
Job Role
- Plan and deliver engaging Design & Technology lessons across Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4)
- Teach a variety of practical and theoretical DT content, including materials, resistant materials, textiles, food preparation and nutrition
- Adapt lessons and resources to support students with different abilities and learning needs
- Maintain high standards of behaviour and ensure practical lessons are safe and well managed
- Assess and monitor pupil progress, providing constructive feedback
- Encourage creativity, independence and problem-solving through practical projects
- Build positive relationships with students and colleagues across the Secondary School
- Contribute to departmental planning and wider school activities
Required Skills and Experience
- Design & Technology Teacher, DT Teacher, Food Technology Teacher, Food Tech Teacher or Secondary Teacher
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Early Career Teacher (ECT)
- Strong subject knowledge across relevant DT disciplines and/or Food Technology
- Good understanding of the National Curriculum at KS3 and KS4
- Confident managing practical classrooms and maintaining safe working environments
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Ability to plan and deliver engaging, hands-on lessons
- Passion for helping students develop practical skills, confidence and creativity
