This Early Years Assistant role is based within the Nursery setting, supporting young children at a key stage of their early development. You will work closely with the class teacher and EYFS team to provide a nurturing, engaging, and safe learning environment, helping children to develop socially, emotionally, and academically through a balance of play-based and structured learning.
The school is looking for a warm, reliable, and proactive Early Years Assistant with strong EYFS knowledge, previous hands-on experience, and a genuine passion for supporting young children in their early education journey.
As an Early Years Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting children in the Nursery through play-based and structured learning activities
- Assisting with the delivery of the EYFS curriculum
- Supporting children’s personal, social, and emotional development
- Encouraging communication, independence, and positive behaviour
- Supporting daily routines such as snack time, transitions, and outdoor learning
- Working closely with the class teacher and wider EYFS team
- Helping to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating learning environment
To be successful in this Early Years Assistant role, you will need:
- Previous experience working within an EYFS or Nursery setting (essential)
- A relevant Early Years qualification (essential)
- A caring, patient, and enthusiastic approach
- A good understanding of the EYFS framework
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A reliable and professional attitude
