Early Years Practitioner

Are you an experienced and qualified Early Years Practitioner looking for a part-time role supporting children in a school-based pre-school?

A welcoming Primary School in Worcester is seeking a caring and committed Early Years Practitioner to join their team from September. This is a part-time role working 3 days per week, initially until Christmas. The successful candidate will be supporting the school's pre-school provision, helping to create a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment where young children can learn, develop, and thrive.

This role is ideal for an experienced Early Years Practitioner who has previous experience working with children within an Early Years or pre-school setting and holds a relevant qualification. You will work as part of the wider Early Years team to support children's learning and development, encourage independence, and help provide high-quality care throughout the day.

Previous experience supporting children with personal care needs would be desirable, as some personal care may be required as part of the role. The successful candidate will need to be patient, nurturing, and confident working with young children while maintaining a professional and proactive approach.

As an Early Years Practitioner, your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting children within the school's pre-school provision.

• Creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young children.

• Supporting children's learning, development, and progress through play-based activities.

• Helping children develop their communication, social skills, confidence, and independence.

• Working alongside the Early Years team to deliver engaging activities and learning opportunities.

• Supporting children's individual needs and adapting activities where appropriate.

• Encouraging positive relationships and interactions between children.

• Supporting routines throughout the pre-school day.

• Providing personal care support where required.

• Maintaining a high standard of safeguarding, care, and wellbeing at all times.

• Working collaboratively with staff, parents, and other professionals to support children's development.

To be successful in this Early Years Practitioner role, you will need:

• Previous experience working within an Early Years, Nursery, or Pre-School setting.

• A relevant Early Years qualification, such as Level 3 Early Years Educator or equivalent.

• A strong understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

• Experience supporting children's learning and development through play.

• A caring, patient, and nurturing approach.

• The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with young children.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

• The ability to work effectively as part of a wider Early Years team.

• Personal care experience and training would be desirable.

• A proactive and professional approach to supporting children's development and wellbeing.
