Are you a passionate English teacher looking to make a change? Flourish Education are recruiting a secondary English teacher to join our team, to work in various secondary schools in Birmingham on a day-to-day basis.

Working as a Supply Teacher for Flourish Education allows you to work where and when you want- providing you with a great work-life balance! Working as a supply teacher on a day- to-day basis requires no planning or meetings, which takes away all the additional pressure of teaching. This lets you continue doing what you love, which is teaching while assisting children in reaching their full potential in Key Stage three and four. 

This Secondary school which has a ‘Good’ Ofsted rating, has strong community values and is looking for a maths teacher to join their Maths Department for their Key Stage 3 and 4 (KS3 and KS4) students.

As this is day-to day supply teacher role, you will not be expected to plan lessons, mark work and attend staff meetings however you will be expected to:

  • Deliver lessons and work set out by the regular English Teacher
  • Create a motivating learning environment within the classroom
  • To manage behaviour in the classroom as per the school behaviour policy
  • Support and monitor student’s progression in lessons
  • Mark students’ work in line with the school’s marking policy at the end of every day, when required

To apply for this English Teacher role, you will need:

  • Must have the relevant teacher status: QTS /ECT’S (formerly NQTs) are encouraged to apply
  • Experience in teaching English in line with the National Curriculum in a UK Secondary School
  • Excellent subject knowledge of English in Key Stages 3 and 4 is essential
  • Ability to manage a classroom with excellent communication skills
  • Excellent behaviour and classroom management skills
  • Contract references from all employment in the last 24 months
