Flourish Education are working with a friendly and welcoming boys' secondary school in South Birmingham that is seeking to appoint an English Teacher from October half term 2026 until July 2027.

As an English Teacher, you will teach English Language and English Literature across KS3 and KS4, helping students develop their literacy skills, confidence, and enjoyment of the subject.

Job Role:

  • Deliver engaging English lessons across Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4)
  • Plan and prepare lessons in line with the National Curriculum
  • Assess, monitor and report on student progress
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour and implement school policies consistently
  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils
  • Contribute to the wider English department and school community
  • Build positive relationships with students, colleagues and parents

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in English (ECTs welcome to apply)
  • Experience teaching English in a UK Secondary School
  • Strong subject knowledge of English Language and English Literature across KS3 and KS4
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Experience planning and delivering lessons independently
  • A positive reference from your most recent employer

What We Offer:

  • Long-term English Teacher role from October half term 2026 until July 2027

  • Competitive salary paid to scale:  £174.71-£240.70 which equates to £34,068 to £46,937 based on working 5 days a week for a full school year

This boys' secondary school is located in South Birmingham and is easily accessible by car and public transport from areas including Kings Heath, Moseley, Stirchley, Selly Oak, Bournville, Northfield, Harborne, Hall Green, Kings Norton and Redditch.
