Flourish Education are working with a welcoming and supportive secondary school in Bartley Green that is seeking to appoint an English Teacher from October half term 2026 until July 2027.

The successful English Teacher will teach English Language and English Literature across KS3 and KS4, delivering engaging lessons that inspire a love of learning and help students achieve excellent outcomes.

Job Role:

  • Deliver engaging English lessons across Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4)
  • Plan and prepare lessons in line with the National Curriculum
  • Assess, monitor and report on student progress
  • Maintain high expectations for behaviour and implement school policies consistently
  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils
  • Contribute to departmental planning and wider school initiatives
  • Build positive relationships with students, colleagues and parents

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in English (ECTs welcome to apply)
  • Experience teaching English in a UK Secondary School
  • Strong subject knowledge of English Language and English Literature across KS3 and KS4
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Experience planning and delivering lessons independently
  • A positive reference from your most recent employer

  • Competitive salary paid to scale: £32,760 – £44,850 per annum (based on a daily rate of £168–£230, depending on experience)
