English Teacher

Flourish Education are working with a secondary school in Stratford-upon-Avon that is looking to appoint an English Teacher from October half term 2026 until July 2027.

The school is looking for a committed teacher to join its English department and deliver English Language and English Literature across KS3 and KS4. The successful candidate will be expected to plan and deliver effective lessons, support student progress and maintain positive behaviour and classroom expectations.

Job Role:

• Deliver English lessons across Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4)
• Teach both English Language and English Literature
• Plan and prepare lessons in line with the National Curriculum
• Assess, mark and monitor student progress
• Provide constructive feedback to support pupil development
• Maintain effective classroom and behaviour management
• Adapt lessons to meet the needs of different learners
• Contribute to departmental planning and wider school activities
• Build positive relationships with students, colleagues and parents

Required Skills and Experience:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in English – ECTs welcome to apply
• Previous experience teaching English within a UK secondary school
• Strong knowledge of English Language and English Literature across KS3 and KS4
• Experience planning and delivering lessons independently
• Effective classroom and behaviour management skills
• Ability to support students with different abilities and learning needs
• A positive and professional approach to teaching
• A satisfactory reference from your most recent employer

What We Offer:

• Long-term English Teacher role from October half term 2026 until July 2027
• Full-time position
• Pay from £174.71 to £240.70 per day, equivalent to £34,068 to £46,937 per annum based on working 5 days a week for a full school year, dependent on experience (M1–M6)
