English Teacher

Job Description

We are recruiting for an English Teacher to join a vibrant and inclusive secondary school where students are encouraged to "be the best that they can be." The position is full-time and open to both experienced educators and Early Career Teachers (ECTs), with strong leadership support and clear behaviour policies in place. You’ll be teaching motivated pupils in a school that values diversity, inclusion, and professional development.

This role is due to start in September until December, this could then be extended. You will be planning, and marking and teaching both KS3 and KS4.

As this is a long-term supply teacher role, you will be expected to:

  • Teach English (Literature & Language) throughout KS3 and KS4.
  • Planning, marking, and assessment required.
  • Comply with the school behaviour policy.
  • Reporting pupil progress against targets/action plans
  • Build relationships with the pupils, parents, and staff.
  • Excellent behaviour and classroom management skills

Required skills and experience for the English Teacher role:

  • Specialist in English
  • Confident teaching both English (Literature & Language) up to GCSE
  • Must have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in English - Early career Teachers (ECT’s) are encouraged to apply.
  • Ability to manage a classroom with excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisation skills.
  • Contact references from all employment in the last 24 months.
  • Previous school experience teaching Science.
