We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Food Technology Teacher who can teach across Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4). The role will involve planning and delivering engaging lessons across a range of abilities, combining practical cooking activities with relevant theory, nutrition and food science. You will encourage students to develop their creativity and independence while ensuring lessons are delivered in a safe, inclusive and well-managed environment.
This role is due to start in September 2026 and will continue until March 2027.
Job Role
- Deliver engaging Food Technology lessons across Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4)
- Teach a broad Food Technology curriculum, including nutrition, food preparation, food science and healthy eating
- Follow the National Curriculum and adapt lessons to meet the needs of all learners
- Maintain excellent behaviour management and high expectations within both classroom and practical environments
- Assess and monitor pupil progress, providing constructive feedback to support achievement
- Ensure a safe and organised learning environment, promoting food hygiene and health and safety procedures
- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents within the Secondary School
Required Skills and Experience
- Food Technology Teacher, Design Technology Teacher or Secondary Teacher
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Recent experience teaching Food Technology within a Secondary School setting
- Excellent subject knowledge in Food Technology and nutrition
- Strong understanding of the National Curriculum for KS3 and KS4
- Ability to create an engaging, inclusive and practical learning environment
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- Passion for delivering high-quality lessons that inspire and motivate pupils
What We Offer
- Pay from £174.71–£240.70 per day, equating to £34,068–£46,937 per annum based on working five days per week for a full school year, dependent on experience (M1–M6)
