Bonjour, parlez-vous français? Are you a passionate French teacher looking to make a change? Flourish Education are recruiting a secondary Teacher to teach French across various secondary schools across Birmingham on a day-to-day supply basis.

Working as a Supply Teacher for Flourish Education allows you to work where and when you want - giving you a great work-life balance! What's more, day-to-day supply teaching requires no planning or meetings, which takes away all additional pressures of teaching and allows you to do what you love - TEACH!

The secondary schools are looking for French teachers who can read, write, and speak fluent French to support their Modern Foreign Language (MFL) department for their Key Stage 3 and 4 Students.

As this is a day-to-day supply role, you will not be expected to plan or mark. However, you will be excepted to:

  • Teach French throughout KS3 and KS4.
  • Deliver lessons and work set out by the regular teacher.
  • Create an engaging and motivating learning environment.
  • To manage classroom behaviour in line with the school behaviour policy.
  • Support and monitor student’s progression in lessons.
  • When required, mark student’s work in line with the school’s marking policy at the end of every day.

Required skills and experience for the French Teacher role:

  • Must be a specialist in the subject.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak fluently in French.
  • Must have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Early Career Teachers (ECT’s) are encouraged to apply.
  • Ability to manage a classroom with excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisation skills.
  • Contact references from all employment in the last 24 months.
  • Previous UK school experience as a French Teacher.
