History Teacher

Job Description

Flourish Education is recruiting a History Teacher for a long-term position at a secondary school in Solihull, starting in September 2026 and continuing until July 2027.
The school is looking to appoint a History Teacher to join its Humanities department and teach across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. This is an excellent opportunity to work within a supportive secondary school that is committed to delivering high-quality teaching and helping students achieve their full potential.
The successful candidate will take on full teaching responsibilities, including planning and delivering engaging History lessons, assessing and marking students' work, monitoring progress, writing reports, and attending parents' evenings throughout the academic year.
This role is available on either a full-time or part-time basis and would suit an experienced History Teacher or an Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking to gain valuable experience within a secondary school.

Job Role

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging History lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
  • Follow the National Curriculum and adapt lessons to meet the needs of all learners
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, providing effective feedback
  • Maintain high standards of behaviour management and implement school policies consistently
  • Contribute to departmental planning and wider school initiatives
  • Build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents

Required Skills and Experience

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Early Career Teacher (ECT)
  • Previous experience teaching History within a UK secondary school
  • Strong subject knowledge across the History curriculum at KS3 and KS4
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
  • Experience planning and delivering lessons independently
  • Organised, reliable, and committed to supporting student progress

What We Offer

  • Full-time or part-time History Teacher role from September 2026 until July 2027
  • Pay from £174.71 to £240.70 per day, equivalent to £34,068 to £46,937 per annum, based on working five days per week for a full school year (M1–M6), depending on experience

Location

This secondary school is based in Solihull and is easily accessible by car and public transport from Shirley, Knowle, Dorridge, Acocks Green, Hall Green, Sheldon, Birmingham, Coventry, Redditch, and surrounding areas. Onsite parking is available for staff.
