Are you a passionate HLTA with EAL specialism or an EAL  teacher looking to make a change? Flourish Education are recruiting a secondary HLTA/ EAL teacher to start in July for Maternity cover for up to one academic year

Responsibilities for the EAL Teacher/ HLTA role

This Ofstead “Good” rated school are looking for a HLTA EAL specialist  to join their vibrant SEND department to undertake the following responsibilities:

  • Acting as a lead practitioner for EAL working under the direction of the AHT SENDCo.
  • Leading EAL withdrawal lessons.
  • Managing EAL resources (Flash Academy)
  • Developing EAL provision
  • Assessing language acquisitions
  • Maintaining the Provision Map for EAL
  • Supporting the whole school Lexia Programme
  • Providing CPD for TA’s

Required skills and experience for the EAL Teacher/ HLTA role

  • Experience in teaching EAL in KS3 and KS4 (Key stage 3and 4).
  • Must have the relevant qualification: HLTA or QTS / ECT’s (formerly NQTs) are encouraged to apply.
  • Ability to manage a classroom with excellent communication skills.
  • Contact references from all employment in the last 24 months.
  • Previous EAL Teacher/support experience.

Working as an EAL Teacher/ HLTA for Flourish Education offers you excellent benefits, including:

  • Competitive salary- Day rate of £100 to £150 (dependant on experience) which equates to £19,500 to £29,000 per annum based on working 5 days a week for a full school year
