Are you an experienced and confident HLTA looking for a part-time role from September?

Flourish Education are working in partnership with a welcoming Primary School in Malvern, who are seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join their team from September until July.

This part-time position is working 4 days per week and will involve covering classes across the school from Reception through to Year 6. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced HLTA who enjoys variety within their role and can confidently deliver pre-planned lessons across both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

The school is looking for a flexible and proactive HLTA who can quickly build positive relationships with pupils and staff, maintain high expectations for behaviour and learning, and provide high-quality classroom support when not covering lessons.

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and senior leaders to ensure continuity of learning across the school. You will play a key role in supporting pupils' academic progress while contributing positively to the wider school community.

As an HLTA, your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering pre-planned lessons across Early Years, KS1, and KS2 in the absence of the class teacher

  • Managing classroom behaviour effectively and promoting a positive learning environment

  • Supporting pupils’ learning and engagement across a variety of subjects

  • Adapting teaching approaches to meet the needs of all learners, including those with additional needs

  • Working closely with teaching staff to ensure consistency and continuity across classes

  • Providing feedback on pupil progress and classroom activities


To be successful in this HLTA role, you will need:

  • HLTA status or equivalent qualification/experience

  • Previous experience covering classes within a primary school setting

  • Strong behaviour management skills and confidence leading a class

  • A flexible and adaptable approach to working across all primary year groups

  • A proactive and positive attitude towards supporting learning
