Are you an experienced and qualified HLTA looking for a varied long-term opportunity?

A welcoming and supportive Primary School in Oldbury is seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join their team four days per week, working Monday to Thursday. This is a long-term, non-planning role starting as soon as possible and running initially until the new year, with the potential for the role to continue beyond this point.

The successful candidate will provide class support across Years 1 to Year 6, offering an excellent opportunity to gain experience across both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. The school is open to ECTs who are looking to build on their classroom experience, as well as experienced HLTAs and Teaching Assistants with the relevant qualifications and Primary School experience.

As a HLTA, your responsibilities will include:

• Providing classroom support across Years 1 to Year 6.

• Working Monday to Thursday on a consistent long-term basis.

• Supporting class teachers with teaching and learning across both KS1 and KS2.

• Providing small group and individual support to pupils where required.

• Delivering interventions to support pupils' learning and progress.

• Supporting pupils with a range of abilities and additional learning needs.

• Adapting activities and resources to meet individual pupil needs.

• Building positive relationships with pupils and encouraging their confidence and independence.

• Supporting positive behaviour and maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment.

• Working closely with class teachers and other school staff to provide effective support.

• Providing feedback to teachers regarding pupil progress, engagement and behaviour.

• Following existing lesson plans and school procedures, with no planning responsibilities required.

To be successful in this HLTA role, you will need:

• A relevant HLTA, Teaching Assistant, Education or Childcare qualification is required.

• Previous experience working within a Primary School.

• Experience working across Key Stage 1 and/or Key Stage 2.

• Good understanding of the Primary National Curriculum.

• Experience supporting pupils through interventions and small group activities.

• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills.

• The ability to quickly adapt to different year groups, classrooms and pupil needs.

• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

• A patient, nurturing and proactive approach to supporting children's learning.

• ECTs are encouraged to apply and gain valuable experience across the Primary age range.

• A strong commitment to safeguarding and child wellbeing.

• A DBS on the update service, or issued within the last 12 months.

• A minimum of two excellent references.
