Job Description

Are you a passionate Humanities Teacher looking to make a change? Flourish Education are recruiting Humanities Teachers to work in various secondary schools across Birmingham on a day-to-day supply basis to deliver one or more of the following subjects:

  • Geography
  • History
  • RE

Working as a Supply Teacher for Flourish Education allows you to work where and when you want - giving you a great work-life balance! Day-to-day supply teaching requires no planning or meetings, which takes away all additional pressures of teaching and allows you to do what you love - TEACH!

For a day-to-day supply teacher role, you will not be expected to plan lessons or attend staff meetings however you will be expected to

  • Deliver lessons and work set out by the regular Humanities Teacher.
  • Create an engaging and motivating learning environment.
  • To manage classroom behaviour in line with the school behaviour policy.
  • Support and monitor student’s progression in lessons.
  • When required, mark students’ work in line with the school’s marking policy at the end of every day.

To apply for this Humanities Teacher role, you will need

  • Must have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). Early career teachers (ECTS) are encouraged to apply.
  • Experienced teaching in a UK Secondary School as a Humanities Teacher.
  • Excellent subject knowledge of Geography, History and RE in Key Stages 3 (KS3) and 4 (KS4) is essential.
  • Excellent behaviour and classroom management skills.
  • A strong school reference from your recent employer.
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
