KS1 SEN Teaching Assistant

Job Description

Flourish Education are recruiting for a SEN TA for a 1:1 role to work in a 1-form entry Primary school in the Wolverhampton area. This ‘outstanding’ Ofsted rated school is in need of a full-time Teaching Assistant to work with a child in Year 4 with Autism and challenging behaviour.

Candidates for this role will need to have previous experience working with Autistic children and managing challenging behaviour, as well as recent experience working with children at KS2 level. SEN qualifications are not required but desirable.

This full-time TA role will start in September 2024 until the end of the autumn half term – potential extensions will be considered after this time. Typical hours of 08:30 – 3:30 apply.

Experience required for this SEN 1:1 TA role include:

-       Hold a level 2 or 3 qualification

-       Good knowledge of working with SEN and at least 3 months experience working in a school setting as a Teaching Assistant or LSA

-       A DBS on the update service, or issued within the last 12 months

-       A minimum of 2 excellent references

-       Character reference of a professional of whom you have known for 3+ years

This role is located in the wolverhampton area, which is easily accessible from surrounding areas such as Shortheath, Bilston and Willenhall . On-site parking is available at the school also.
