A warm and inclusive First School in Bromsgrove is seeking a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated KS1 team. This role will involve supporting pupils, some who present with challenging behaviours, to help them engage positively and make progress in their learning.

Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider school staff, you will help create a nurturing and structured environment where every child feels supported and valued.

The role requires someone who can show initiative and flexibility when responding to the needs of the class, while also being a strong team player with excellent communication skills.

Requirements for this SEN Teaching Assistant role:

  • Provide one-to-one support within the school’s Year 1 class for a child with non-verbal Autism.
  • Work closely with teachers to adapt learning to individual pupil needs
  • Promote inclusion and engagement within the classroom and across the school
  • Support emotional and behavioural development through positive reinforcement
  • Encourage independence and progress across Key Stage 1

Required Skills and Experience for SEN Teaching Assistant Role:
  • Experience supporting children across Key Stage 1 in a UK Primary School
  • Understanding of the National Curriculum, Key Stage 1 (KS1), and Early Years
  • Relevant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills
  • Previous UK school experience is essential
