Job Description

We're recruiting for SEN Learning Support Assistants to work and join a highly supportive Alternative Provision based in Solihull. These are full-time, temp-to-perm roles working Monday to Friday, 8:15am–4:15pm, looking for you to start as soon as possible.
 
As a SEN LSA, you will be working closely with teachers in the classroom to support the learning and development of pupils within a secondary Alternative Provision in Solihull. You will be supporting students with a range of needs, including ADHD, ADD, ASD, challenging behaviours, and SEMH difficulties across KS3 and KS4.
 
Pupils may present with behavioural challenges and may be working below age-related expectations, so your role will focus on helping them regulate emotions, stay engaged in learning, and develop positive learning behaviours.
 
Required Skills and Experience for this SEN LSA Role:
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND including ASD,ADD,ADHD, Challenging Behaviour, SEMH and EBD
  • Implement strategies to support behaviour, emotional regulation and individual learning outcomes
  • Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs and external professionals to meet EHCP goals
  • Help create a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment
  • Support pupils with personal care or physical needs, where required
  • Promote independence, confidence and resilience in learners
 
Salary:
  • £88.92 - £120 per day depending on experience, which equates to £17,940 - £23,400 based on working 5 days a week for a full school year

We are currently supporting an Alternative Provision based in Solihull, dedicated to meeting the needs of secondary-aged pupils who require specialist support. The provision works with young people presenting a range of needs, including ADHD, ASD, ADD, and challenging behaviours. It offers a structured, supportive environment where pupils are encouraged to re-engage with learning, develop positive behaviours, and build confidence both academically and socially.
 
The provision is well located for professionals commuting from areas such as Birmingham, Shirley, Knowle, Coventry, and surrounding parts of the West Midlands. With strong transport links and on-site parking available, it is easily accessible whether travelling by car or public transport.
