Are you an experienced Learning Support Assistant, looking for a new role in education?

Flourish Education are working alongside a wonderful Primary School based in Stourbridge, who are hoping to appoint a qualified Learning Support Assistant starting in February, until the end of the academic year.

This Learning Support Assistant role is a full-time classroom based role, supporting a Year 2 pupil on a  1:1 support basis. This is working closely with the class teacher to support a safe, engaging, and positive learning environment.

The child presents with challenging behaviour and requires consistent, nurturing support to help them focus, regulate emotions, and engage positively with learning. This role is ideal for someone who is calm under pressure and passionate about making a real difference to a child’s educational journey.

Required Skills and Experience for this Learning Support Assistant role
  • Hold a relevant level 2 or Level 3 qualification.
  • Previous experience working with SEN pupils, within a Primary school or SEN setting, particularly with pupils who have behavioural needs.
  • Be familiar with implementing strategies to manage and reduce challenging behaviours
  • Be able to build strong, and trusting relationships with the children in the class.
  • Good curriculum knowledge of Key Stage 1.
  • A DBS on the update service or issued in the last 12 months
  • A minimum of 2 excellent references
