Flourish Education is recruiting for a Music Teacher to join a secondary school in Solihull, starting in September 2026 and continuing until July 2027. The role offers the opportunity to teach Music across KS3 and KS4, supporting students to develop their musical knowledge, practical skills and confidence.
The successful Music Teacher will plan and deliver lessons covering both practical and theoretical elements of the subject, assess student progress and maintain positive classroom expectations. This position would suit an experienced Music Teacher or an ECT looking to develop their teaching within a secondary school.
Job Role:
- Plan and deliver Music lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Teach musical theory, composition and performance
- Use a range of teaching methods to engage students with different abilities
- Monitor and assess student progress
- Provide feedback to support students' development
- Encourage pupils to participate in practical and performance activities
- Maintain good behaviour and clear classroom expectations
- Work with colleagues to support Music and Performing Arts activities
- Contribute to the wider life of the school where required
Required Skills and Experience:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Early Career Teacher (ECT)
- Previous experience teaching Music within a secondary school
- Strong knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 Music curriculum
- Good subject knowledge and a passion for Music
- Ability to plan and deliver engaging and inclusive lessons
- Effective classroom and behaviour management skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students and colleagues
- Flexible and reliable approach to teaching
