Nursery Teacher

Job Description

Are you a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Teacher looking for a full-time role?

A welcoming and supportive Primary School in Stourport is seeking a confident Nursery Teacher to join their team full-time from September on a fixed-term contract.

This role is ideal for a passionate Nursery Teacher, ECT or experienced HLTA looking to expand their classroom experience within an Early Years setting. Working with a Nursery class of approximately 20–25 children aged 3–4 years, you will be supported by three experienced Teaching Assistants, allowing you to focus on delivering engaging learning experiences and supporting children's development.

This is a non-planning role, making it an excellent opportunity for a newly qualified teacher or HLTA seeking to gain valuable experience in a full-time teaching position without the responsibility of lesson planning. The school is looking for someone who can create a nurturing and stimulating learning environment where children feel safe, valued, and motivated to learn.

As a Nursery Teacher, your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering engaging and interactive learning activities to Nursery-aged children.

  • Leading whole-class and small-group learning sessions for children aged 3–4 years.

  • Creating a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment.

  • Supporting children's communication, language, personal, social, and emotional development.

  • Following planning provided by the school and adapting activities to meet the needs of all learners.

  • Observing, assessing, and supporting children's progress and development.

  • Working collaboratively with three Teaching Assistants to ensure high-quality support for all children.

  • Promoting positive behaviour and encouraging independence through play-based learning.

  • Building positive relationships with parents, carers, and colleagues.

  • Attending staff meetings and contributing to the wider school community.

  • Supporting children's wellbeing and readiness for their transition into Reception.

To be successful in this Nursery Teacher role, you will need:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant HLTA qualification and experience.

  • Experience working within an Early Years setting.

  • A strong understanding of child development and early learning.

  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.

  • The ability to engage and inspire young learners through creative and interactive activities.

  • A caring, patient, and nurturing approach.

  • Strong communication and organisational skills.

  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.

  • A flexible, reliable, and professional attitude.

  • ECTs and experienced HLTAs are encouraged to apply.

Working as a Nursery Teacher for Flourish Education also offers you excellent benefits, including:

  • Competitive daily pay rates, from £120 to £140, based on previous pay scale and experience.

  • Holiday Pay – PAYE candidates accrue 12.07% of their day rate.

  • Pension Contributions.

  • Free, comprehensive safeguarding and Prevent Duty training, including modules on legislation, FGM, and abuse.

  • A refer-a-friend bonus scheme.

  • Ongoing support throughout the registration process and during your placement.

This Nursery Teacher position is based in Stourport-on-Severn and is easily commutable from surrounding areas such as Kidderminster, Bewdley, Worcester, Droitwich Spa, Bromsgrove, Hagley, and Hartlebury. The school offers good transport links and on-site parking.
