Job Description

PE Teacher required for a Good Ofsted-rated Primary School in Walsall, starting in September. This is a unique opportunity for a passionate PE Teacher to teach the PE curriculum across the primary age range while supporting wider school life through lesson cover and an early bird club from 8.15am. The school is a welcoming, two-form entry Primary School with a strong focus on providing a broad and engaging curriculum. JOB ROLE
As a PE Teacher, your responsibilities will include:
  • Planning, preparing and delivering high-quality PE lessons across Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2).
  • Teaching the National Curriculum for PE across all year groups, ensuring lessons are engaging, inclusive and appropriately challenging.
  • Taking full class responsibility, including planning, preparation, assessment, marking and pupil progress.
  • Providing cover for a variety of lessons across the Primary School when required, adapting confidently to different year groups.
  • Supporting pupils' wider development through positive relationships, high expectations and excellent behaviour management.
  • Supporting the school's early bird club from 8.15am, helping to create a positive and engaging start to the school day.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience working as a PE Teacher, Primary Teacher, Class Teacher or similar teaching role.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the National Curriculum, particularly PE across Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2).
  • Experience teaching within a Primary School, with the flexibility to teach across different year groups.
  • Excellent behaviour management skills and the ability to establish clear expectations and positive classroom routines.
  • Ability to take full class responsibility, including lesson planning, marking, assessment and supporting pupil progress.
  • A proactive, adaptable and enthusiastic Primary Teacher who can contribute positively to the wider life of the school.
