PMLD Specialist Teaching Assistant

We are looking for an experienced PMLD Teaching Assistant looking for a new challenge based in West Birmingham at a school with a vision vision of being Inspirational, Aspirational and Transformational. Long term role with immediate start until December 2024.

JOB ROLE:

Our PMLD TA role is an excellent opportunity to make a big difference in a pupil’s education and involves:

• Assisting with personal care and mobility needs
• Providing day to day support to Teachers in teaching and learning
• Promoting student independence and confidence
• Contribute to the development and implementation of Individual Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Previous experience in supporting children with Profound Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD)
• Qualifications in Support Teaching and Learning
• Ability to assist with personal care
• An enhanced DBS check on the update service and be able to provide references
