Are you a passionate RE Specialist looking for a new opportunity within a secondary school? Flourish Education are currently working with a supportive secondary school in Kings Heath who are looking to appoint an enthusiastic RE Specialist on a full-time, long-term basis.
This position is available to start ASAP and will initially run until January 2027, with the potential for the role to be extended. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced RE Specialist to join a school where you can make a real impact on pupils' learning and progress.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and purposeful Religious Education lessons across Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4). You will take on full classroom responsibilities, including planning, marking and assessment, while working alongside a supportive Humanities team.
As an RE Specialist, your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and delivering engaging RE lessons across KS3 and KS4
- Taking full responsibility for classes, including planning, marking and assessment
- Differentiating lessons to meet the needs and abilities of all learners
- Monitoring, assessing and reporting on pupil progress
- Maintaining high expectations of behaviour and achievement
- Creating a positive, inclusive and engaging classroom environment
- Developing positive relationships with pupils and encouraging a love of Religious Education
- Working collaboratively with colleagues within the Humanities department
- Supporting pupils with both their academic and personal development
- Following school policies and contributing positively to the wider school community
To be considered for this RE Specialist role, you will ideally have:
- QTS or be an Early Career Teacher (ECT)
- Previous experience teaching Religious Education within a UK secondary school
- Strong subject knowledge across Religious Education
- A good understanding of the UK Secondary RE curriculum
- Experience teaching across KS3 and KS4
- Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
- The ability to plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons
- A passion for supporting young people and helping them achieve their potential
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A professional, reliable and enthusiastic approach
Working as an RE Specialist for Flourish Education also offers you excellent benefits, including:
- Pay from £174.71–£240.70 per day, equating to £34,068–£46,937 per annum based on working five days per week for a full school year
