Role: Reception teacher, full time (maternity cover)

Area: Rowley Regis – B65

Starting: May (full 9 months, possibly longer)

Flourish Education is currently working with a three-form entry Primary school in Rowley Regis who are seeking to appoint a Reception teacher to join their team on a full-time, long-term basis. The school has a vibrant and young staff, who are looking for a like-minded teaching assistant to slot into their team.

The Reception teacher role has come about due to a maternity cover, needed from May for a minimum of 9 months (possibly longer). The role would be suitable for a candidate with previous experience working as a class teacher in the Early Years setting, with a good knowledge of the EYFS framework. As this role is a long-term position, the ideal Reception teacher would be able to form relationships with pupils, staff and parents. A real sense of teamwork and good communication would be vital to ensure that all stakeholders are working together. The ability to teach Phonics will be essential, as well as helping pupils to achieve their Early Learning Goals. The Reception teacher would be working with young pupils, so a kind, caring and nurturing approach is essential.

To apply for this Reception teacher role you will need the following:

• Qualified teacher status (NQT may be considered)
• Previous experience teaching in EYFS
• Good knowledge of the EYFS framework
• Secure knowledge of Phonics programme
• DBS on the update service or issued in the last 12 months.
• Minimum of 2 excellent references required.

Responsibilities for the Reception teacher role:

• To teach lessons to match the Early Years framework.
• To deliver Phonics lessons to pupils.
• To communicate and direct colleagues to support pupils.
• To ensure that children make progress towards their early learning goals.
• To follow the school behaviour policy and code of conduct.
• To attend meetings and CPD training that is relevant to the role.
