Job Description

Are you a creative and caring Reception Teacher with a passion for Early Years? Are you looking for a new role to start in September? Flourish Education are recruiting for a Reception Teacher to work on a full-time basis at a two-form entry village primary school in Hereford. 

This Reception Teacher role will require you to plan and deliver lessons that are exciting and engaging, with a strong emphasis on the importance of learning through play. The Early Years team prefer to ‘plan in the moment’, and try to incorporate the children’s interests when planning. PPA time will be provided for you to plan alongside your year group partner.

As a Reception Teacher at the school, you will have high expectations of pupil behaviour, work well as part of a team alongside the teaching assistants and be dedicated to creating a positive learning environment for the young learners in your care. The school benefits from an extensive outdoor area and Forest school, and so a love of the outdoors (in all weathers!) is a must!

Required Skills and Experience for this Reception Teacher role:

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) – ECT’s are encouraged to apply.
  • EYFS experience essential
  • An understanding of the importance of learning through play
  • Excellent behaviour and classroom management skills – you should have high expectations of pupil’s behaviour
  • To plan and deliver engaging lessons across the EYFS
  • The ability to work effectively alongside teaching assistants and a year group partner.

Location:

This Reception Teacher role is located in central Hereford, and is easily commutable from the surrounding areas including Leominster, Ledbury and Ross-on-Wye. The school has an on-site carpark, and is easily accessible via public transport.
