Reception Teacher

Job Description

We are recruiting for a Reception Teacher to join a supportive, two-form entry Primary School in Walsall, rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted. The school is known for its inclusive ethos, strong community links, and commitment to raising achievement across all areas of learning. This is an ongoing, full-time position starting in March and includes full planning and marking responsibilities. The successful Primary Teacher will work as part of a collaborative Early Years team in a well-resourced setting.

Job Role:
  • Full class responsibilities as a Reception Teacher, including planning and marking
  • Deliver engaging lessons in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage framework
  • Assess pupil progress and maintain accurate records
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Collaborate with the parallel Class Teacher and wider team
  • Communicate effectively with parents and careers
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working as a Primary Teacher, ideally within EYFS or Reception
  • Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum, Early Years, and Key Stage 1 (KS1)
  • Excellent behaviour management skills
  • Experience teaching in a Primary School setting
  • Ability to adapt lessons to suit a range of learning needs
