Are you a passionate Science teacher looking to make a change? Flourish Education are working with an Alternate provision based near Halesowen who are looking for a full time Science Teacher to join them after half term initially until Christmas.
Our client is an alternative provision for pupils aged 11-16 who would benefit from a placement away from their mainstream setting due to behavioural and SEMH challenges. They are a small setting where SLT are heavily involved and are extremely supportive.
This Science role is predominantly teaching Biology up to GCSE along with Chemistry and Physics. Knowledge of Edexcel GCSE Biology would be ideal as well as a background in working with students with challenging behaviour.
Responsibilities for the Science Teacher role
- Deliver Science/ Biology lessons up to GCSE
- Full planning, marking and assessment required.
- Reporting pupil progress against targets/action plans
- Build repour with students and encourage learning
- Ability to successfully manage challenging behaviour
- Build relationships with the pupils, parents, and staff.
- Attend CPD relevant to the role – whole staff and SLT meetings.
Required skills and experience for the Science Teacher role
- Experience in teaching Science in KS3 and 4 (Key stage 3 and 4).
- Qualified Teacher status ( QTS) Is desired but not essential.
- Ability to manage a classroom with excellent communication skills.
- Contact references from all employment in the last 24 months.
- Previous Science Teacher experience.
- Experience working in an alternate provision setting
- Excellent behaviour managment is essential
