Job Description

We are recruiting for a Science Teacher to join a high-achieving, values-driven secondary school with a strong Catholic ethos and an excellent reputation for student behaviour and pastoral care. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to teach engaged learners in a supportive environment where academic success and spiritual development go hand in hand. The role is suitable for both experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs), with ongoing CPD and collaboration across a wider Multi Academy Trust. You will benefit from a welcoming staff team, clear curriculum structures, and a well-resourced science department.

This role is due to start in September until the end of the academic year. You will be expected to plan, mark and teach KS3 and KS4.

As this is a long-term supply teacher role, you will be expected to:

  • Teach Science (Biology, chemistry and Physics) throughout KS3 and KS4.
  • Planning, marking, and assessment required.
  • Comply with the school behaviour policy.
  • Reporting pupil progress against targets/action plans
  • Build relationships with the pupils, parents, and staff.
  • Excellent behaviour and classroom management skills

Required skills and experience for the Science Teacher role:

  • Specialist in Science 
  • Confident teaching all three sciences (Biology Chemistry and Physics) up to GCSE
  • Must have Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in Science - Early career Teachers (ECT’s) are encouraged to apply.
  • Ability to manage a classroom with excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisation skills.
  • Contact references from all employment in the last 24 months.
  • Previous school experience teaching Science.
