SEN Teacher

Job Description

We're recruiting for SEN Teachers to join a highly supportive Alternative Provision based in Solihull. These are full-time, temp-to-perm roles working Monday to Friday, 8:15am–4:15pm, with an immediate start available.

You will be teaching core subjects and supporting pupils with a range of needs including ASD, ADD, ADHD, SEMH and EBD. Pupils may display challenging behaviours and often work below age-related expectations, so a strong focus on emotional regulation, engagement, and positive learning habits is essential.

Required Skills and Experience for this SEND Teacher Role:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS)

  • Strong understanding of ADHD and experience supporting pupils who present with challenging behaviours, including the ability to implement effective regulation strategies and personalised support approaches.

  • Background in working within a specialist school, PRU, or inclusive mainstream setting, supporting pupils with behavioural, social, and emotional needs.

  • Familiarity with strategies for managing behaviour and supporting children with emotional and behavioural challenges.

  • Confidence in planning and delivering differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs and learning outcomes.

  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)

  • Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding practices
     

Salary:

  • £31,650 - £45,352 per annum based on working 5 days a week until the end of term

  • Holiday Pay – 12.07% of your day rate is accrued into your holiday pot

We are currently supporting an Alternative Provision based in Solihull, dedicated to meeting the needs of secondary-aged pupils who require specialist support. The provision works with young people presenting a range of needs, including ADHD, ASD, ADD, and challenging behaviours. It offers a structured, supportive environment where pupils are encouraged to re-engage with learning, develop positive behaviours, and build confidence both academically and socially.

The provision is well located for professionals commuting from areas such as Birmingham, Shirley, Knowle, Coventry, and surrounding parts of the West Midlands. With strong transport links and on-site parking available, it is easily accessible whether travelling by car or public transport.
