We are currently recruiting for a dedicated SEND Teacher to work in SEN schools across Birmingham. You’ll have the opportunity to support pupils with a range of SEND needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and BESD, helping to engage learners in a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment. You choose the days you want to work, and we’ll place you in schools where we know you’ll thrive.


The SEN Teacher Role:
  • Deliver engaging and inclusive lessons to pupils with a wide range of SEND needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and BESD, ensuring all learners are supported in a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment.
  • Support students with complex and additional educational needs
  • Adapt learning materials and approaches to suit individual learning styles and EHCP outcomes
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
  • Maintain a trauma-informed and nurturing classroom environment
  • Work closely with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs and external agencies
Required Skills and Experience for this SEND Teacher Role:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS)
  • Experience in roles such as SENCo, SLD / MLD Teacher, SEMH Teacher, SEND Teacher, or Inclusion Coordinator
  • Strong understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, including SEMH, ASD, ADHD, BESD
  • Experience working in a special school, PRU or inclusive mainstream setting
  • Familiarity with strategies for managing behaviour and supporting children with emotional and behavioural challenges
  • A nurturing, empathetic and flexible teaching style
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding practices

We work with a variety of SEND schools across Birmingham. The schools are easily commutable from Edgbaston, Harborne, Selly Oak, Erdington, Handsworth, and King’s Heath. Most schools have excellent public transport links and on-site parking for drivers.
