SEN Teacher

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated SEND Teacher to join a specialist school in Birmingham, supporting children and young people aged 2–19 with a range of additional needs, including Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Autism, complex physical disabilities and communication needs.

This role involves planning and delivering engaging, personalised lessons that enable every pupil to achieve their full potential. Working closely with Teaching Assistants, therapists and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will create an inclusive learning environment that promotes communication, independence and personal development. The school offers a supportive and collaborative culture with excellent opportunities for professional development.

This role is due to start in September for the full academic year on a full time basis.

Required Skills and Experience for this Teacher role:
  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status)
  • Experience teaching pupils with SEND, including SLD, PMLD, Autism and complex learning needs (specialist or mainstream experience considered)
  • Commitment to the role
  • Excellent behaviour and classroom management skills
  • Plan and deliver engaging, creative and differentiated lessons to meet individual needs
  • Complete marking, assessments and monitor pupil progress
  • Raise pupils' attainment and celebrate individual achievements
  • Create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment
  • Effectively work alongside Teaching Assistants, therapists, medical proffesionlas and the wider multidisciplinary team
Working for Flourish Education as a Teacher you will receive:
  • £168.80 to £232.57 per day, which equates to £32,916 to £45,351 per annum, based on working five days a week for a full school year (dependent on experience)

This Teacher opportunity is located in Perry Common, Birmingham, and is easily commutable from Erdington, Kingstanding, Great Barr, Perry Barr, Stockland Green, Boldmere, Sutton Coldfield, Handsworth, Aston, Castle Vale, Streetly and the surrounding North Birmingham areas via car and public transport. On-site parking is also available.
