We are currently recruiting for a committed Secondary SEND Teacher to work in SEN schools across Dudley, supporting pupils with a wide range of needs, including SEMH, ASD, ADHD, EBD, Challenging Behaviour, Learning Difficulties (LD), and Multi-Sensory Impairments (MSI). You’ll play a key role in helping pupils engage in learning within a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment. You choose the days you want to work, and we’ll place you in schools where we know you’ll thrive.
The SEN Teacher Role:
- Deliver engaging and inclusive lessons to pupils with a wide range of SEND needs, including SEMH, ASD, ADHD, EBD, Challenging Behaviour, Learning Difficulties (LD), and Multi-Sensory Impairments (MSI), ensuring every learner is supported within a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment.
- Support students with complex and additional educational needs
- Adapt learning materials and approaches to suit individual learning styles and EHCP outcomes
- Build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
- Maintain a trauma-informed and nurturing classroom environment
- Work closely with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs and external agencies
Required Skills and Experience for this SEND Teacher Role:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS)
- Experience in roles such as SENCo, LD/ ADHD Teacher, SEMH Teacher, SEND Teacher, or Inclusion Coordinator
- Strong understanding of a wide range of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, including SEMH, ASD, ADHD, EBD, Challenging Behaviour, Learning Difficulties (LD), and Multi-Sensory Impairments (MSI).
- Experience working in a special school, PRU or inclusive mainstream setting
- Familiarity with strategies for managing behaviour and supporting children with emotional and behavioural challenges
- A nurturing, empathetic and flexible teaching style
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
- Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding practices
