Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a SEND Teachers to join a specialist SEN school in the Halesowen, this special school caters for pupils across all key stages and children aged from 4 up to 19, The school provides high-quality education with a range of different SEN such as SpLD, VI, HI, SLCN, SEMH, MSI, PD and SLD within a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment.
 
We are looking for an experienced and dedicated SEND Teacher to join a dynamic SEN setting. In this role, you will deliver high-quality education across Primary and secondary classes, supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including SLD, MLD, complex communication and learning difficulties.
 
In this rewarding role, you will deliver a differentiated curriculum tailored to pupils’ individual needs, supporting those working below age-related expectations while promoting emotional regulation and positive behaviour. You will work closely with the SENDCo and leadership team to ensure EHCP provision is effectively implemented. The school is a growing specialist setting for pupils with complex Autism and communication needs, offering a personalised and nurturing approach. With an expanding Secondary provision, this is a great opportunity to support pupils while helping to shape an inclusive curriculum in a supportive environment.
 
The SEND Teacher Role:
  • Deliver inclusive lessons for pupils with SEND, including SpLD, SLD and challenging behaviours
  • Plan and adapt learning to meet EHCP outcomes and individual needs.
  • Track progress and implement targeted interventions.
  • Create a nurturing, trauma-informed classroom environment.
  • Build positive relationships and support behaviour regulation.
  • Work with TAs, SENCOs, parents and external agencies.
  • Manage support staff to maximise pupil outcomes.
  • Maintain safeguarding, records and contribute to EHCP reviews.
 
Required Skills and Experience for this SEND Teacher Role:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS)
  • Experience in roles such as SENCo, VI Teacher, SEND Teacher, or Inclusion Coordinator
  • Strong understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, including HI and SLCN
  • Experience working in a special school, PRU, or inclusive mainstream setting
  • Familiarity with strategies for managing behaviour and supporting children with emotional and behavioural challenges
  • Makaton Trained or experience of BSL
  • A nurturing, empathetic, and flexible teaching style
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding practices
