Flourish Education is recruiting for an experienced SEND Teacher to join a specialist Post-16 SEN College in the Hereford area. This is a part-time, temporary role up until the end of term, working 2 days per week, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00am – 4:00pm to start as soon as possible.
 
For this role you will be teaching and supporting students aged 18–25 with a range of complex learning and physical needs, including sensory needs, cerebral palsy, nonverbal communication, severe learning difficulties, and speech, language & communication needs. Learners who are working at levels from EYFS to GCSE, with a strong focus on developing independent life skills.
 
As a SEND Teacher with Flourish Education, you’ll be expected to plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to each individual needs, attend parents evens and be a part of extracurricular activities  work closely with support staff within the classroom, and create a positive, inclusive learning environment. The classes typically have around 5–10 students.
 
Required Skills and Experience for this SEND Teacher Role:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS)
  • In-depth knowledge of SEND, with a particular focus on supporting pupils with Physical, complex and learning needs, and complex care requirements including the safe and accurate administration of medication as part of individual healthcare plans.
  • Experience working in a special school, PRU or inclusive mainstream setting
  • Familiarity with strategies for managing behaviour and supporting children with emotional and behavioural challenges
  • Must be confident in planning and delivering differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs and learning outcomes.
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding practices

 Salary: 
  • £31,650 - £45,352 per annum based on working 2 days a week until the end of term

We are currently supporting a specialist Post-16 SEN College based in Hereford, dedicated to meeting the needs of young adults with a diverse range of complex learning needs. The college is ideally located for professionals commuting from surrounding areas such as Leominster, Worcester, Ross-on-Wye, Ledbury, Bromyard, and Abergavenny. It benefits from excellent public transport links and on-site parking, making it easily accessible whether you travel by car, bus, or train.
