Job Description

We are currently recruiting a SEND Teachers to join Specialist Provision based in Oldbury, supporting pupils aged 4 –11 years of age. This school is a Specialist School for children with Severe Profound and Complex Learning  Difficulties and medical needs, creating a nurturing, structured, and supportive environment for children with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, and behavioural needs.
 
In this rewarding role, you will deliver an engaging, differentiated curriculum tailored to pupils’ age, ability, and individual needs, particularly those working below age-related expectations. You will promote emotional regulation, encourage positive behaviour, and support pupils to re-engage with learning. Working closely with the SENDCo and leadership team, you will ensure EHCP provision is effectively implemented with personalised targets. The school offers exceptional, purpose-built facilities, including sensory spaces, studios, and hydrotherapy and swimming pools. You will work within a strong multi-agency team of therapists, nursing staff, and specialist teachers. On-site clinics and specialist support ensure a holistic approach to pupil development. The SEN Teacher Role:
  • Deliver inclusive lessons for pupils with SEND, including SLD, PMLD and challenging behaviours
  • Plan and adapt learning to meet EHCP outcomes and individual needs.
  • Track progress and implement targeted interventions.
  • Create a nurturing, trauma-informed classroom environment.
  • Build positive relationships and support behaviour regulation.
  • Work with TAs, SENCOs, parents and external agencies.
  • Manage support staff to maximise pupil outcomes.
  • Maintain safeguarding, records and contribute to EHCP reviews.
 
Required Skills and Experience for this SEND Teacher Role:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS)
  • Experience in roles such as SENCo, SLD Teacher, SEND Teacher, or Inclusion Coordinator
  • Strong understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, including SLD and PMLD
  • Experience working in a special school, PRU, or inclusive mainstream setting
  • Familiarity with strategies for managing behaviour and supporting children with emotional and behavioural challenges
  • A nurturing, empathetic, and flexible teaching style
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding practices
