We are currently recruiting a dedicated EYFS SEN Teachers to work in specialist early years settings across Sandwell. You’ll have the opportunity to support nursery-aged children with a wide range of SEND needs, including Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), Physical Disabilities (PD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Visual Impairments (VI), Hearing Impairments (HI), non-verbal learners, and Cerebral Palsy.


The SEND Teacher Role:
  • Deliver engaging and inclusive lessons to pupils with a wide range of SEND needs, including Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), Physical Disabilities (PD), Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Visual Impairments (VI), Hearing Impairments (HI), non-verbal learners, and Cerebral Palsy, ensuring all children are supported to access learning and reach their full potential.
  • Support students with complex and additional educational needs
  • Adapt learning materials and approaches to suit individual learning styles and EHCP outcomes
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
  • Maintain a trauma-informed and nurturing classroom environment
  • Work closely with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs and external agencies
Required Skills and Experience for this SEND Teacher Role:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS)
  • Experience in roles such as SENCo, SLD / MLD Teacher, SEMH Teacher, SEND Teacher, or Inclusion Coordinator
  • Strong understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, including SLD, VI, HI, PD
  • Experience working in a special school, PRU or inclusive mainstream setting
  • Familiarity with strategies for managing behaviour and supporting children with emotional and behavioural challenges
  • A nurturing, empathetic and flexible teaching style
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding practices
