We are currently recruiting for a dedicated SEND Teacher to work in a PRU based in Telford. You’ll have the chance to support pupils with a wide range of SEND needs; helping to engage vulnerable learners in a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment. The SEN Teacher Role:
  • Deliver engaging and inclusive lessons to pupils with a range of complex needs, including social, Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Behavioural, Emotional and Social Difficulties
  •  (BESD), and  Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • Support students with complex and additional educational needs
  • Adapt learning materials and approaches to suit individual learning styles and EHCP outcomes
  • Build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
  • Plan and adapt lessons to suit diverse learning styles and individual education plans (IEPs), ensuring each pupil receives the support they need to thrive.
  • Work closely with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs and external agencies
Required Skills and Experience for this SEND Teacher Role:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS)
  • Proven experience in roles such as SEN Teacher, Complex Needs Specialist, Inclusion Coordinator, or Behaviour Support Lead, supporting pupils with a wide range of complex needs including Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Behavioural, Emotional and Social Difficulties
  •  (BESD), and  Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • In-depth knowledge of SEND, with a particular focus on supporting pupils with ADD, ASD, ADHD, BESD, and complex care requirements including the safe and accurate administration of medication as part of individual healthcare plans.
  • Experience working in a special school, PRU or inclusive mainstream setting
  • Familiarity with strategies for managing behaviour and supporting children with emotional and behavioural challenges
  • Must be confident in planning and delivering differentiated lessons tailored to individual needs and learning outcomes.
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding practices

  • £162.31 to £223.63 per day which equates to £31,650 to £43,607 per annum based on working 5 days a week for a full school year

We are currently supporting a PRU located in Telford, dedicated to meeting the needs of children and young people with a diverse range of complex learning Needs. the Pupil Referral Unit is ideally located for professionals commuting from nearby areas including Shrewsbury, Wolverhampton, Newport, Bridgnorth, Market Drayton, and Stafford. It benefits from excellent public transport links and on-site parking, making it easily accessible whether you travel by car, bus, or train.
