We are currently recruiting a SEN Teachers to work in SEN schools and Pupil Referral Units (PRUs) in Wolverhampton. You’ll have the opportunity to support pupils with a wide range of SEND needs, including ADD, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). You’ll help vulnerable learners engage in learning within a safe, structured, and nurturing environment. You choose the days you want to work, and we’ll place you in schools where your skills and expertise will be valued and supported.
The SEN Teacher Role:
- Deliver engaging and inclusive lessons to pupils with a wide range of SEND needs, including ADD, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), ensuring all learners are supported to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
- Support students with complex and additional educational needs
- Adapt learning materials and approaches to suit individual learning styles and EHCP outcomes
- Build positive relationships with pupils and colleagues
- Maintain a trauma-informed and nurturing classroom environment
- Work closely with Teaching Assistants, SENCOs and external agencies
Required Skills and Experience for this SEND Teacher Role:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS)
- Experience in roles such as SENCo, SLD / MLD Teacher, SEMH Teacher, SEND Teacher, or Inclusion Coordinator
- Strong understanding of Special Educational Needs and Disabilities, including ADHD, ASD, SEMH, PMLD
- Experience working in a special school, PRU or inclusive mainstream setting
- Familiarity with strategies for managing behaviour and supporting children with emotional and behavioural challenges
- A nurturing, empathetic and flexible teaching style
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
- Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding practices
