Job Description

We are recruiting for an enthusiastic and compassionate SEND Teacher to join a specialist school in Worcestershire, supporting children and young people aged 2–19 with a broad range of additional needs. The school provides a highly supportive learning environment for pupils with Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Autism, complex physical disabilities and communication needs.

As a SEND Teacher, you will deliver high-quality, personalised learning that enables every pupil to develop academically, socially and emotionally. You will work closely with experienced Teaching Assistants, therapists and other professionals to ensure pupils receive the individual support they need to succeed. The school prides itself on its inclusive ethos, excellent facilities and commitment to helping both pupils and staff achieve their full potential.

This is a full-time position starting in September, continuing for the full academic year.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching pupils with SEND, including SLD, PMLD, Autism and complex learning needs (experience in either specialist or mainstream settings is welcomed)
  • A caring and adaptable approach to teaching
  • Strong classroom management and behaviour management skills
  • The ability to plan, deliver and adapt engaging lessons to meet individual learning needs
  • Experience assessing pupil progress and using this to inform future planning
  • A commitment to promoting independence, confidence and achievement for every learner
  • The ability to work effectively with Teaching Assistants, therapists, medical professionals and the wider multidisciplinary team

Working for Flourish Education as a Teacher you will receive:

  • £168.80 to £232.57 per day, equating to £32,916 to £45,351 per annum based on working five days a week for a full school year (dependent on experience)

This SEND Teacher opportunity is based in Worcestershire and is easily commutable from Worcester, Droitwich Spa, Bromsgrove, Malvern, Pershore, Evesham, Redditch, Kidderminster, Stourport-on-Severn and the surrounding areas by car. On-site parking is available.
