We’re currently recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants to support a Alternative Provision based in Birmingham. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to work with pupils with a variety of different complex needs, including Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and other additional learning requirements.

The SEN Teaching Assistant Role:

Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND including Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Implement strategies to support behaviour, emotional regulation, and individual learning outcomes

Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to meet EHCP goals

Help create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment

Support pupils with personal care or physical needs, where required

Promote independence, confidence, and resilience in learners
We welcome applications from candidates with experience in any of the following roles:
- SEN Teaching Assistant, SEND TA, Learning Support Assistant (LSA), Teaching Assistant, 1:1 TA, Behaviour Mentor

Experience working in a special school, PRU, alternative provision, or inclusive mainstream school

Strong understanding of SEND, particularly supporting pupils with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD), and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Empathetic, adaptable, and resilient approach

Excellent behaviour management strategies

Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

Relevant training such as Team Teach, Makaton, or PECS is desirable but not essential

£88.92 - £120 per day depending on experience, which equates to £17,940 - £23,400 based on working 5 days a week for a full school year
